Markus Fachet (* Bauseler) is a research associate at the DFG Research Training Group 2792, ‘Autonomy of Heteronomous Texts in Antiquity and the Middle Ages’. From 2019 to 2020, he studied German language and History, later Latin, before switching to the study of Law in the winter semester of 2020. Within this, he specialised in ‘Fundamentals of Law’, with a particular focus on Roman law. In addition, he obtained his Graecum and Hebraicum at the University of Jena (FSU). His studies were supported by a scholarship from the ‘Konrad Adenauer Foundation’. In 2026, he successfully completed his study of Law with the ‘First Legal Exam’. His interests are in legal history, particularly Roman and Byzantine law, classical philology and theology.
